ROURKELA: To avoid anticipated inconvenience to candidates appearing for the JEE (main), the national-level entrance test for admission in central technical institutions on April 7, the district administration has chalked out a detailed plan. Rourkela being the only examination centre for offline mode of JEE (main) in the state, around 20,000 students are expected to come here for the test.Considering the shortage of hotel rooms and hygienic food for the aspirants, several voluntary organizations will provide dormitory accommodation with food at nominal charges or free of cost. The decision was taken in a meeting of various voluntary organizations and associations convened by Rourkela ADM Rabindra Nath Mishra on Monday evening. "We have made an appeal to all concerned to ensure smooth stay for the students and their guardians during the examination here," said Mishra said. The meeting decided that the volunteers will run a control room at the Rourkela railway station from where students who don't have confirmed booking in any hotels will be directed to such free accommodations on April 6 and 7.According to sources, all hotels and lodgings in the city have been booked for April 6 and 7. Many small and medium hotels are also making temporary dormitory arrangements for the students, on these two days.Bus and auto operators have been asked not to take advantage of the rush and refrain from levying extra charges. The bus route chart, covering all examination centers, was also discussed in the meeting. | ||
