Title - Bangalore tops in Railway additional fare collection

Bangalore division has topped all other divisions in the Indian Railways in collecting the additional fare charges, which got enhanced due to the hike in the railway fare, from the passengers who had reserved their ticket even before the hike was implemented.

The division has collected Rs 1,76,12,820 from January 22, when the fare hike was implemented, till February 10.

Hubli division has collected Rs 37,89,980 and Mysore division has collected Rs 17,91,443 during the same period.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager N Ramesh said, “Around 410 ticket checking staff have worked day and night in different shifts to make this possible.”
