Title - Bengaluru rail division earns Rs 1,197 cr

Bengaluru: Bengaluru division of South Western Railway has recorded an overall earning of Rs 1,197.74 crore, a 12% increase from last year. The division has reported revenues upwards of Rs 1,000 cror third year in succession.

In passenger earnings, the division has achieved Rs 905.12 crores up by 13%.  Sundry earnings at Rs 75.31 crore (an increase of 72%) and ticket checking earnings at Rs 6.75 crore (up 17%) have achieved the best ever records.  The division has achieved the best ever overall punctuality at 97.88% for March 2013.

It runs the highest number of 3,388 special trains in 2012-2013. The division has bagged various awards on the occasion of 58th Railway Week, including awards to Syed Imtiaz  Ahamed (asst. commercial manager), Abdul Rahiman (poi­ntsman, Hindupur), Suresh Lamani (trackman, Hindupur) and Sah­ana Kumari (junior clerk).
