Title - Call to operate trains announced in budget

NAGERCOIL:
The Kanyakumari District Railway Users’ Association urged the Union Minister for Railway, Pawan Kumar Bansal, to operate trains announced in the railway budget 2012-13.In a memorandum to the minister, the secretary P. Edward Jeni stated that as the financial year 2012-13 would come to a close in a couple of days, the railways should act fast to operate the trains announced for Tamil Nadu.

Demands:The statement sought the conversion of 12641/42 Kanyakumari-Nizamuddin weekly into biweekly, introduction of Tirunelveli-Dadar weekly via Madurai, Konkan, conversion of 22604/03 Villupuram-Kharagpur weekly into biweekly, introduction of Chennai Central-Bangalore A/C Double Decker, introduction of Madurai-Kacheguda weekly and the extension of 12687/88 Chandigarh/Dehradun-Chennai weekly to Madurai.

While most of the trains announced in the railway budget 2012-13 for Kerala, Chennai and other regions of the Southern Railway had already been operated, the southern part of Tamil Nadu had been neglected, the statement said.
