Title - Central Railway trains may run 20 minutes late during megablock on Sunday

MUMBAI: Brace for megablocks on the Central Railway on Sunday. Officials said suburban trains are likely to be more crowded than usual and may be 20 minutes late due to the rail blocks.

A megablock will be carried out on the Up fast line between Kalyan and Thane stations from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm. The Up fast line services leaving Kalyan from 10.30 am to 3.33 pm will be diverted on Up slow line between Kalyan and Thane stations halting at all stations between Kalyan and Thane, and will be further re-diverted on Up fast line halting at Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Kurla, Dadar and Byculla stations.

"All slow line services leaving and arriving at CST between 11 am and 5 pm will arrive destination 15 minutes behind schedule,'' an official said.

There will also be a megablock on Up Harbour line between Kurla and CST and on both Up and Down Harbour lines between Vadal Road and Mahim stations from 11.30 am to 3.30 pm. Trains for Andheri/Bandra on Harbour line will be suspended during this period.

"The Up Harbour line services from Panvel/ Belapur/Vashi for CST leaving Kurla from 11.08 am to 3.23 pm will run via Up fast line between Kurla and Byculla halting at Sion, Matunga, Dadar and Parel stations and further will be diverted on Up slow line between Byculla and CST,'' an official said.

Harbour line passengers for Bandra/ Andheri are permitted to travel Via Main line and Western Railway from 10 am to 6 pm. There will be no rail block on the WR, officials said.

"Due to megablocks, passengers are requested not to take any risks while travelling. They are also requested to avoid travelling on foot board, roof top of locals and not to board extremely over crowded trains," CR spokesperson, A K Singh, said.
