CHANDIGARH: In a bid to check the chaos at the Chandigarh railway station caused by the short time gap between the newly introduced third Shatabdi, which runs at 11.40am and the return of the morning Shatabdi from New Delhi at 11.10am, the Ambala division is all set to change the timings of the new Shatabdi by 20 minutes. The rescheduled timings, which has been sent to authorities in Delhi for approval, is likely to be implemented in a week. Railway authorities will keep passengers who have made advance bookings for the newly introduced train informed. Due to the short time gap of only 25 to 30 minutes, the railway station witnesses huge chaos, with people boarding the new train and those getting off the old one finding it difficult to do so. P K Sanghi, divisional railway manager of Ambala division said, "The new timing could be 12pm. Everything is in place and we are waiting for final approval. At present, due to the short gap between both the trains, it becomes very difficult for the public to board and come out of the train."

Initially, as both the trains were coming and leaving the station from platform number one, it had become difficult for authorities to tackle them in such a short span of time.

A few days ago, the Shatabdi, which came from New Delhi to the city railway station was diverted to platform number 4.

But after the time change, both the trains will run from platform number 1, which will be more convenient for the public.
