VADODARA: The Vadodara railway division of Western Railway has registered best-ever ticket checking earnings of Rs 2.11 crore during the month of May.

Divisional railway manager of Vadodara railway division N K Shukla has informed that the railway division has registered its best ever ticket checking earnings of Rs 2.11 crore and registered 47,000 cases during the month.

"This is the best earning through the ticket checking drive. In the corresponding month-May 2012-the division had achieved Rs 1.36 crore earnings and registered 32,000 cases. The division has registered a growth of 55.78 per cent in earnings and 46.88 per cent in cases that were registered as compared to its own performance of May 2012," Shukla informed.

Senior divisional commercial manager of Vadodara railway division Pradeep Banerjee while motivating the staff to keep up the good work, has also stressed on the need for the staff to be more polite to passengers.

"We are advising the passengers to travel with proper ticket to avoid being penalized as aggressive ticket checking drives will be conducted in near future," said Banerjee.
