Title - Delhi-Patna AC superfast train run extended

PATNA: Railways has extended the run of New Delhi-Patna AC superfast train up to July 16 while New Delhi -Darbhanga summer special train will now run up to July 14. Similarly Haridwar-Muzaffarpur summer special train will run up to July 16, ECR CPRO Amitabh Prabhakar said.

Rajdhani Express: Ranchi-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, which is running via Barkakana, will now run twice a week. While it runs from New Delhi end on Thursday and Monday, it will run on Saturday and Tuesday from Ranchi end, the CPRO said.

Coaches attached: Railways attached one AC2 and a sleeper coach on permanent basis to Patna - Bangalore Sanghmitra Express (12295-12296) from Wednesday to cope up with rush of passengers. The load combination of this train has now increased to 23 from the existing 21. The number of AC2 coaches has increased to three and sleeper to 11, the ECR CPRO said.

ECR's new financial adviser: S K Mallik took over charge as the new financial adviser-cum-chief administrative officer of ECR on Monday. He had worked in various capacities in ECR and piloted many projects of railways successfully.

Officials' meet: ECR GM Madhuresh Kumar on Wednesday held a high-level meeting with ECR senior officials at its headquarters in Hajipur. He discussed passenger amenities available at stations. The ECR GM said railways still continues to be the cheapest and most comfortable mode of transport across the country.

According to a survey carried out by railways, it has come to light that while roadways' fare for Gaya is Rs70 by bus from Patna, it is Rs35 only by train. Roadways fare for Muzaffarpur is Rs70 while it is Rs57 by train. Similarly, railway fare is Rs25 for Ara while it is Rs48 by a bus from Patna, said the ECR GM.
