NEW DELHI: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced to increase the fees of car parking in DMRC slots. The new tariff will be effected from March 1, 2013.



This move will put extra burden on the metro passengers as they have to pay almost double for car parking. Parking your car beyond 12 hours will cost Rs 40 instead of Rs 25 that is presently being charged. There will also be a significant hike in the monthly parking charges for the cars, which will be increased to Rs 1,000 from Rs 625.



"In accordance with the proposed hike in parking rates by different civic agencies in Delhi, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to increase its parking rates from 1st March, 2013," a DMRC spokesman said.
