Pressured by frequent inspections by urban development and housing minister Shanti Dhariwal along with strict directions, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s (DMRC) was able to expedite the civil works on Mansarovar-Chandpol line last month of the Jaipur Metro project. The results are also visible on the ground. The corporation’s contractors undertook the work at a war-footing and are about to complete it at the four locations, which were way behind the schedule. DMRC engineers said civil works were quite delayed at Mansarovar Depot station and Gurjar Ki Thari and Shyam Nagar stretches. Overhead launching gantry was halted in want of permission of railway commissioner to launch girders over track near Ajmer Pulia. Also, civil works to construct elevated track from Ajmer Pulia to Ajmer Road were put on hold. In the last four weeks, DMRC not only arranged machinery, but also brought expert manpower from Delhi to complete civil works. It claimed civil work on 9.2-km-long elevated track is almost complete and only 350 metre is left. | ||
