Title - Double line commissioned

The new double track laid in the 25-km stretch from Valadi to Kallakudi Palanganatham was commissioned on Wednesday evening upon completion of a mega line block work that was carried out earlier.The Madurai-bound Vaigai Express from Chennai Egmore was the first train to pass on the newly laid track at 7.14 p.m.The commissioning of the double line will considerably reduce congestion especially at night in the Villupuram–Tiruchi chord line section.Railway sources here said the mega line block work, prior to commissioning the double line, was taken up in the morning and completed in the evening.
