PATNA: The East Central Railway (ECR) has launched a drive to check use of liquor, indecent behaviour and viewing of sleazy pictures or films on laptops or cellphones on running trains. The defaulting passengers would not only be dealt with sternly but also prosecuted under Sections 155 and 145 of the Indian Railway Act, said ECR CPRO Amitabh Prabhakar. According to him, railways will realize a fine of Rs 500 from passengers found violating railway rules on running trains. Unauthorized passengers boarding reserved coaches would also be penalized as per railway rules, he said, adding passengers must cooperate with railways during journey in any class, so that women passengers do not feel inconvenience. |
