MUMBAI: A fake ticket checker was arrested at Thane station by alert railway employees while he was extorting money from two teenagers on Friday. The accused, Hanuman Satorkar, 32, is a resident of Dombivali. He was later handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP) for a further probe.Around 11.50am, two teenagers, Himmat Rajput, 18, and Abhimanyu Jaiswal, 17, got into the second-class compartment of a CST-bound fast local from Dombivali station. The duo are residents of Dombivali and work as labourers. As the train started moving, Satorkar approached Rajput and Jaiswal, posing as a ticket checker. He was dressed in plainclothes and demanded that the two teens produce their tickets. When the duo failed to do so, Satorkar threatened them and demanded Rs 100 each for letting them off.Around 12.10pm, the train reached platform 6 of Thane station. Satorkar asked Rajput and Jaiswal to get off and accompany him. He was arguing with the teens when a Railway Protection Force (RPF) cop and a genuine ticket-checker spotted him. On making inquiries, the railway employees realized that Satorkar was a conman. He was then taken into custody and booked. | ||
