PATNA: The Danapur division of East Central Railway (ECR) has made a foolproof arrangement for the smooth train traffic on Wednesday during the RJD'sParivartan Rally in Patna. It has taken several steps to streamline the movement of passenger trains during peak hours of the rally, said Danapur DRM L M Jha. According to Jha, railways has decided to provide stoppage of all passenger trains coming from Delhi and Mumbai side at Danapur station from 2pm to midnight on Wednesday. Similarly, all trains coming from Howrah end would stop at Rajendra Nagar Terminal between 2pm and midnight, he said, adding all mail and express trains would pass through Patna Junction on their scheduled time during the rally.Altogether 700 security personnel, including 300 RPF jawans, will monitor the crowd at Patna Junction, Jha said. According to superintendent of railway police Upendra Kumar Sinha, two DSPs, 25 inspectors and a large number of SIs, ASIs and constables have been deployed at Patna Junction.

Besides, there would be onboard arrangement of announcement to be made for all mail and express train passengers coming from Buxar and Mokama sides that there would be additional stoppages at Danapur and Rajendra Nagar Terminal so that willing passengers could get down at these two stations to avoid the rally rush at Patna Junction. Otherwise, every train would stop at Patna Junction as usual, the DRM said.

Jha said 12 out of 13 rally special trains would reach Patna Junction by Wednesday morning. The circulating area would be kept free from vehicle parking, he said, adding, the first rally special train would leave Patna Junction at 7pm and the last one is scheduled to leave at 11.15pm on Wednesday.

He said Patna DM has been asked to provide fire tenders and ambulance services at both Mahavir Mandir and Karbigahiya ends to meet any untoward incident during the rally. Several RPF women constables will keep a watch on women passengers in the rally. RPF men will keep a close watch through CCTV cameras made operational at Patna Junction, he added.

The DRM said a separate cell has been set up at Danapur control room to monitor the movement of all long distance trains as well as rally special trains. Trains like Himgiri Express, Upasana Express, Poorva Express and a few others would pass through Patna Junction as usual, he said. No vehicular traffic is allowed from Mahavir Mandir side to Patna Junction from 10am to Wednesday midnight. However, traffic would be normal at Karbigahiya side.

The DRM said all trains towards Howrah would leave from platform number 4 of Patna Junction. Similarly, all Delhi-bound trains would leave from platform numbers 4 and 5. Mail and express trains from Howrah side would stop at platform number 3 only while trains coming from Delhi end would stop on platform number 6 and 7 at Patna Junction, the DRM said.
