Title - IFKCA awards for three eminent persons

The Udupi branch of International Federation of Karnataka Christian Associations (IFKCA) has chosen three eminent persons for its awards for 2012.Louis Lobo, President of Udupi branch of IFKCA, told presspersons here on Friday that the advocate Shirtady William Pinto had been chosen for the ‘IFKCA Samaj Ratna Award’.R.L. Dias, President of Udupi Railway Yatri Sangha, and Sunil John D’Souza, President of Divine Generation Ministries Bethel Church Trust, which runs the Vishwasada Mane for the Homeless at Shankarpura, have been chosen for ‘IFKCA Special Awards’. Mr. Pinto was chosen for his efforts to promote legal awareness and for writing books on legal issues. Mr. Dias had fought for getting various trains on the Konkan Railway to stop in Udupi and for getting the Bangalore-Mangalore train extended to Karwar. Mr. D’Souza had brought many homeless persons wandering aimlessly on the streets to the Vishwasada Mane, where they were treated and later re-united with their families.These three eminent persons would be felicitated at a function tentatively scheduled to be held at the Christian High School here on February 28, Mr. Lobo said. Nery Carnelio, Secretary of Udupi branch of IFKCA, and Boniface D’Souza, Treasurer, were present.
