Title - Inauguration of new trains cancelled

The proposed inauguration of new trains from Bangalore-Tumkur and Bangalore-Marikuppam in Banglore on Saturday has been cancelled in view of the model code of conduct in vogue for the byelections to Bangalore Rural and Mandya Lok Sabha constituencies. Disclosing this at a function to lay the foundation stone for work on a new railway overbridge on Jewargi Road here on Friday, Railway Minister M. Mallikarjun Kharge, however, said that the inauguration of another new train from Shimoga to Talaguppa would take place at Shimoga on Saturday as scheduled. Fresh dates for the inauguration of the trains would be announced after the byelections. — Correspondent
