Indore: Commissioner Security Railways (CSR) on Sunday inspected Indore station platforms and Shahstri Bridge in connection with commencement of double decker train service between Bhopal and Indore.    The railway western zone officers did not specify any possible date for the proposed commencement of the service, which already has been postponed several times.
Till now reports were making rounds that this double decker service could start from April 10.   Spokesperson western railways Pradip Sharma claimed that still there is no deadline fixed for commencement of the service.
CSR PS Baghel and his team on Sunday took measurements of Shahstri bridge. Height of this bridge is an issue in this project.
A railway officer claimed that the track could be lowered for the double decker service once it is ascertained that height of this bridge could pose problems in the plying of double decker train on this route. Early this year, after delay in even starting trial run of AC double decker train between Indore and Bhopal, railway officials have pledged to ply the train by the first week of March.
The trial runs were to be conducted in February but the western railway headquarters at the last moment decided to transfer the racks meant for this train to southern railway.
