It demands resignation of all MPs, MLAs from the region

Blaming the MPs and MLAs of all political parties from Seemandhra region for the decision taken by Congress to divide the Andhra Pradesh, the Samaikyandhra student JAC on Tuesday demanded that they should resign their posts by August 12 to avoid being declared traitors.

The supporters of unified State will not allow the MPs and MLAs to move in their constituencies if they stick to their positions after the given date.

A resolution to this effect was passed in the Samaikyandhra student JAC in its meeting held at Acharya Nagarjuna University on Tuesday. The JAC has also decided to lay siege to the Central government offices and establishments on August 7 and 8 and stop movement of trains throughout Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on August 9 and 10.

The Congress-led UPA government will have no alternative except to go back on its word to form Telangana when it faces the threat of collapse, which is possible only when MPs from the region resign their posts. It is therefore imperative that the MPs should quit their posts immediately instead of pretending to be fighting for legitimate rights of people here.

JAC leaders P. Kishore and M. Venkata Ramana asserted that the protests will continue till the decision to form Telangana State was withdrawn.
