Title - Linen storeroom comes up at Tiruchi junction

A linen storeroom for supplying quality bedrolls to air-conditioned coaches has been set up at Tiruchi junction. Manjula Rangarajan, Divisional Railway Manager, inaugurated the storeroom in the presence of S. Venkateswaran, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer, and other senior divisional railway officials.

The storeroom will cater to the needs of passengers travelling in AC 2-tier and AC 3-tier passenger trains which are having primary maintenance at Tiruchi and Villupuram junctions.

A bedroll contains one woollen blanket, one pillow, two bed sheets, one pillow cover, and one hand towel. Arrangements are made to store the linens in dust-free environment and periodical fumigation will be done to get rid of pests . The linens will be supplied to passengers in biodegradable paper covers and blankets will be supplied in polythene covers, a press release from Tiruchi Railway Division issued here said.
