Title - Merchants’ plea to Southern Railway

MADURAI, MAY 24:   Tamil Nadu Foodgrains Merchants Association has urged that the Durranto Express train service operated weekly between Madurai and Chennai Central, be converted into a daily service for the benefit of passengers.

A delegation from the association led by its President S. P. Jeyaprakasam, accompanied by Dindigul Parliament Constituency Member N. S. V.Chitthan, met the General Manager of Southern Railway Rakesh Misra in Chennai recently, and submitted a memorandum.

It said the service has gained patronage but needs more awareness among the public, and urged that the service be converted into a daily service for the benefit of passengers with modern coaches and amenities.
