New Delhi:Asserting that significance on execution of high-speed rail (HSR) should be revealed in the railway budget, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Monday enforced the need to provide a momentum to the ambitious project. The Gujarat Chief Minister while giving important comments at the second HSR seminar organized by Japan said that he is expecting in the coming budget of the Centre that some significance will be given to the HSR so that things will start connecting.Modi stated that the Gujarat government will not hesitate from yielding good result to this prestigious project and will also be ready to provide financial as well as logistics support to the government if the government starts understanding the value of the project and takes   necessary steps.Considering Ahmedabad-Mumbai-Pune to be most economically viable, out of the HSR corridors identified in India, Narendra Modi said that it would be wise to speed up the implementation at a time when Gujarat is playing a leading role in Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC).Modi said that it is time to speed up the process, as the HSR has remained the same since 1980. Modi while talking in the Japanese gathering said that most of the income for Indian Railways is being produced by the Western Railways, which is getting income mostly from Ahmedabad.

Indicating that Gujarat has been playing a major role right from the beginning, Modi added saying that HSR corridor will likely be remunerative in the sector.

Japan is said to be one among the countries that is struggling for HSR corridors project and is believed to be part of Indian Railways Vision 2020.  For the implementation of HSR in India, Indian Railways has launched a High Speed Rail Corporation of India in July 2012.

Altogether fifteen countries have done a major contribution on HSR and each one of them has adopted a system, and now it is time for the country to ultimately learn and develop the  mind as required, added Narendra Modi.
