N.F.RAILWAY’s REVENUE EARNINGS UP BY 8.77% DURING APRIL 2012 – MARCH 2013.

Maligaon, 23rd April, 2013: Inspite of severe constraints and disruptions to train movements due to various problems like frequent rail rook, bandhs etc, the gross-apportioned earnings of N.F.Railways on originating basis during 1st April 2012 – 31st March, 2013 was Rs.3054.64 as against Rs.2808.28 crore during the same period last financial year, registering an increase of Rs.246.36 crore(8.77% higher)
The total goods earnings have gone up from Rs.1490.86 crore during 1st April 2011 – 31st March, 2012 to Rs.1534.20 crore during 1st April 2012 – 31st March, 2013. The total passenger revenue earnings during the financial year 2012- 13 were Rs.781.65 crore as compared to  Rs.659.68 crore during the same period last fiscal,  registering an increase of  Rs.121.97 crore(18.50% higher).
The revenue earnings from other coaching amounted to Rs.128.38 crore during April 2012 – March 2013 as compared to Rs.105.56 crore during the same period last financial year. The revenue earnings from sundries amounted to Rs.609.95 crore during last fiscal.
This remarkable achievement could be attained as a result of several actions taken like freight incentives on empty flow direction, augmentation of passenger trains during rush season, regular interaction with trades, improvement in loading/unloading terminals etc.
