Title - No major faults found in electric engine trial run

Chandigarh:
The trial of the electric engine was conducted today on the Chandigarh-Ludhiana track by the railway authorities. Divisional Railway Manager PK Sangi said no major faults were found during the trial. He said the confirmation of the Commissioner of Rail Safety (CRS) to monitor the track was yet to be received by the authorities.Records of the railway authorities revealed that the first trail run of the engine on Chandigarh-Ludhiana rail was conducted on January 15, 2013. On February 28, the trail of the first freight train was conducted on this link to monitor the loop holes.The 112-km stretch between Chandigarh and Ludhiana will help in reducing the congestion on the road. For the construction of this link a budget of Rs 248 crore was allocated by the Union Railway Ministry in 2000.
