Title - Passenger trains to Mayiladuthurai, Katpadi, flagged off at Villupuram

VILLUPURAM:Katpadi section will be serviced by three pairs of trains

The Southern Railway has introduced three pairs of passenger trains on the Villupuram — Katpadi section and one pair of passenger trains on the Villupuram — Mayiladuthurai section.Villupuram MP M. Anandan flagged off the Villupuram — Katpadi and Villupuram — Mayiladuthurai Passengers trains here on Friday in the presence of Kallakurichi MP Adhi Shankar.The Katpadi bound trains would leave Villupuram at 4 a.m. (Train No. 56882), 4.20 p.m. (Train No. 56884) and 6.25 p.m. (Train No. 56886) and reach the destination at 8.45 a.m., 9.05 p.m., and at 11 p.m., respectively.These trains would stop at all the stations at Venkatesapuram, Teli, Mambalapattu, Aiyanthur, Mugaiyur, Thirukkoilur, Adhichanur, Andampallam, Tandarai, Tiruvannamalai, Turinjapuram, Agaram Sibbandi, Polur, Madhimangalam, Arani Road, Onnupuram, Kannamangalam, Kaniyambadi, Pennathur, Vellore Cantonment, Vellore Town and Katpadi. In the return direction these trains would leave Katpadi at 4.45 a.m. (Train No. 56881), 6.40 a.m. (Train No. 56883) and at 4.35 p.m. (Train No. 56885) and reach Villupuram at 9.15 a.m., 11.30 a.m. and at 9.45 p.m. respectively.

Consequent to the introduction of these trains the Southern Railway has stopped running the passenger specials Nos. 06842 and 06841 on this section.

To Mayiladuthurai

The train bound for Mayiladuthurai would leave Villupuram at 2.40 p.m. (Train No. 56875) and reach the destination at 6 p.m., and on return direction (Train No. 56876) would leave Mayiladuthurai at 3.25 p.m. and reach Villupuram at 6.50 p.m.

This train would halt at Seranthanur, Siruthuraiyur, Panruti, Melpattambakkam, Nellikuppam, Varakkalpattu, Thirupadiripuliyur, Cuddalore Port Junction, Caper Quarry, Alapakkam, Pudhuchathiram, Parangipttai, Killai, Chidambaram, Vallampadugai, Kollidam, Sirkazhi, Vaitheeswaran Koil, Anandathandavapuram, Nidur and Mayiladuthurai.

The composition of these trains would be seven general second class and two second class-cum luggage coaches.
