NAGPUR: Tempers ran high at Nagpur station after passengers of the Secunderabad-Patna Express created a ruckus on Wednesday night after travelling in a coach where the air-conditioner was not working right from the time they had boarded the train.

One of the passengers said railway officials at Secunderabad assured that the AC would be repaired at the train's next halt.

When the train arrived at 9pm on platform No 1, angry passengers resorted to chain-pulling and sloganeering. They even abused senior railway officials.

"The fault was at the originating station but we, at Nagpur, had to bear the brunt," said a senior railway official.

The train was detained for over 90 minutes. Central Railway additional divisional railway manager Uday Borwankar too was at the spot. After the AC was repaired and the train left the platform, passengers again stopped it complaining that there was no cooling. The train was brought back for the technicians to attend to it. A couple of trains got delayed by 20-30 minutes. These trains were accommodated on other platforms.
