Title - Rail division earning up by 32 per cent

The Palakkad Railway Division has earned Rs.878.46 crore during the financial year of 2012-13, which is 32 per cent more than the previous year’s earning at Rs.665.52 crore.

Freight loading:The division has shown a substantial improvement in freight loading and earnings during 2012-13, a release here on Wednesday said.It achieved the highest ever loading in the year 2012-13. The division loaded 7.068 million tonnes (MT) against 5.344 million tonnes achieved in 2011-12 — recording an increase of 32.16 per cent.The loading of coal recorded 5.414 MT as against 2.627 MT last year, an increase of 106 per cent, the release said.
