Title - Rail passengers’ satyagraha today

A local action council of railway passengers and local people will stage a satyagraha in front of the Vadakara railway station on Monday demanding more facilities for the station and allotment of stoppage for 32 long-distance trains passing through the route.Leaders of the action council said that Railways had been neglecting the station. It was yet to have a modern ticket booking counter and an outpost of the Railway Protection Force though the demand had been pending for long, they said.Vadakara Rail Users’ Forum president A.P. Premarajan and secretary Manalil Mohanan said trade unions, merchants, and socio-cultural organisations would take part in the satyagraha. The support of residents’ associations too had been sought to make the strike a success, they added.
