Members of the Youth Congress and other organisations stepped up their agitation over Union Labour and Employment Minister M. Mallikarjun Kharge not getting the Chief Minister’s post, in Gulbarga and Yadgir districts.Protesters took the Railway authorities and the local police by surprise by marching into the Gulbarga Railway Station unannounced on Monday to stage a rail roko. They sat on the tracks, blocking the Secunderabad-bound Shatabdi Express for more than 15 minutes.Eyewitnesses said there were more than 100 protesters, who raised slogans against Congress high command for not choosing the Union Minister for the post.

Yadgir Correspondent reports: In Yadgir, several pro-Dalit organisations staged a protest near Ambedkar Chowk on Monday.Protesters raised slogans against Congress high command for “treating Kharge unjustly”.
