Title - Railway cops abuse girl, inquiry on

South Central Railway (SCR) officials have initiated an inquiry into allegations that Chittoor railway station GRP SI Mahboob Basha, along with his staff, harassed a girl, who came to the town to write Eamcet exam.

The girl from Kuppam was allotted a centre in Chittoor town. She, along with her relative, came to the town a day before the date of the test. They arrived at Chittoor railway station at 3 am on Friday and stayed in the waiting room. After tracing the duo, Chittoor GRP sub-inspector  Mahboob Basha and some other staff took them into custody and began interrogation. Though the girl produced the exam hall ticket to the cops, the latter took the girl into a room and allegedly misbehaved with her. When she began shouting, her relative went to her rescue, which is when the police resorted to physical assault. Seeing this, some passengers informed the local media. The victims revealed the harassment meted out by the police. The police later let them free.
