TIRUVANNAMALAI:
Arani MP M.Krishnaswamy inaugurated a railway reservation counter at the Tiruvathipuram post office in Cheyyar town on Wednesday.The counter will be operated by personnel from the post office.According to railway sources, Members of Parliament were asked to select two locations in their constituencies to set up reservation counters in post offices. Mr. Krishnaswamy selected Cheyyar as his first location.At the inauguration function held in Cheyyar on Wednesday, Mr.Krishnaswamy said that 1,000 such centres are being set up across the country and Tamil Nadu had already got 10 centres. Mr. Krishnaswamy became the first beneficiary to buy a reservation ticket for a journey from Arani to Tiruvannamalai in AC coach and paid Rs.115.Divisional Railway Manager Manjula Ranganathan and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Prasath were present.
