CUDDALORE:Even while the higher officials of the Education Department were seized of the matter relating to the scattering of a bundle of answer scripts of the SSLC public examination (Tamil paper –II) found on the railway track at Vriddhachalam, District Collector R. Kirlosh Kumar has held railway officials responsible for the lapse.In a latter addressed to the Tiruchi Divisional Manager of the Southern Railway, the Collector pointed out that the answer scripts of the examination conducted on March 28 were collected and sealed and then sent by the railway mail services to the Tiruchi division for correction.However, while the railway employees were handling them, one of the bundles slipped and fell on the tracks. (The bundle was noticed only after the Rockfort Express, in which other bundles were booked, left the Vriddhachalam railway station).The Collector further stated that the railway officials must see to it that such a lapse would not recur. Meanwhile, the Education Department sources told The Hindu that all the script bundles were duly insured. The sources further said that the scripts were collected and a messenger was assigned the task of taking them by car to be submitted to the Director of Government examination. |
