Title - Schoolkids, locals to get a 'feel' of Jaipur Metro after its trial run

A ride in metro train may still be a few months away till then Jaipurites will have to be content with just a look of the train.

According to Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) officials, after completing trial run on the metro will be parked at Mansarovar station for public view.

Meanwhile, the foundation for the next phase of the project between Chandpole and Bari-Chaupar would be laid on September 21. Prime minister Manmohan Singh has been invited to lay foundation stone.

Chief minister Ashok Gehlot is believed to have sent invitation to the PM who is expected to arrive in Jaipur for laying foundation stone for an airport in Kishangarh. CMD of JMRC, Nihal Chand Goyal said once the trial run is over the metro train will be parked at Mansarovar station and will be open for public viewing.

According to Goyal, people will be able to see train and its coaches between 2 to 6 pm on the same day.  They will be issued special entry passes for that. He said that school children will also be allowed to view the train the next day September 19.

The timing for them will be 9 am to 1 pm and in the second half the train will once again be open for general public’s viewing. CM Ashok Gehlot will flag off Metro Rail for trial run at a speed of 40 to 45 km per hour on 2.4 km track between Mansarovar station and Shyam Nagar stations via New Atish Market and Vivek Vihar stations on Wednesday.
