Title - Science Express attracts thousands of students, faculty

JALANDHAR: Thousands of students, teachers and locals throng to see the Science Express at the local Railway Station. Students and teaching faculty in and around the city schools rush in queues to visit the Since Express an innovative Science Exhibition mounted on specially designed 16 AC coaches train traveling across India since Oct, 2007.

It’s a unique collaborative initiative of the Department of Science & Technology and Union Ministry of Environment and Forests and is named as Science Express Biodiversity Special.

The train has covered a journey of 86, 000 km attracting more than 87 lakh people to visit the largest, longest and most visited mobile Science Exhibition in India.

The aim of the Science express is to fight against Desertification and to create awareness on diversity of India, climate change and similar issues among various sections of the society, especially the students.

Students of different schools and colleges of the city visited the Science express to gain knowledge besides experiences they witnessed with the wonders of science magic shows, fun filled activities and Joy of Science labs supported by Indus Towers to avail opportunities to the students to perform various activities and experiments to understand concepts in Environment, Science and Mathematics in an interesting manner.
