Title - Shri K.L. Pandey Takes Over The Charge of Additional General Manager, South Central Railway

Shri K.L. Pandey has taken over the charge of Additional General Manager, South Central Railway today i.e., 21st May 2013. He is also the Director (Public Grievance) South Central Railway. Before this posting, he was Chief Operations Manager, West Central Railway, Jabalpur.

Born in November, 1954 in Hardoi (Uttar Pradesh), Shri K.L. Pandey got his M.Sc (Bio Chemistry) in the year 1974 from Lucknow University and belongs to the 1977 batch of Indian Railways Traffic Service (IRTS) Officers.

Earlier, during his long illustrious career, Shri Pandey held several key 9+managerial and executive posts in Operations, Commercial and Vigilance branches in various Zones of Indian Railways. He worked as Senior Divisional Operations Manager, Samastipur, North Eastern Railway; Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Jhansi Division, North Central Railway; Divisional Railway Manager, Vadodara Division, Western Railway; Senior Deputy General Manager and Chief Commercial Manager, Eastern Railway, Kolkata. He also held the post of Chief General Manager, Container Corporation of India Ltd, Northern Region, New Delhi o­n deputation.

He visited many foreign countries viz. U.S.A, U.K, Canada, China, Singapore, Thailand andseveral European Countries o­n study / training purposes.

Shri Pandey is an acclaimed writer and connoisseur of Hindustani and western classical music.He had so far authored six books in Hindi literature – all collection of short Stories, Poetry and Satire. He is currently writing a bilingual book (Hindi & English) o­n ‘Raga Elements in Hindi Film Music’ elucidating various ragas employed in over 8000 songs from Hindi feature films released between 1931 and 2011.
            He was honoured by Railway Board with “Maithilisharan Gupt”  award and by Mahakaushal Sahitya Parishad with “Bharat Bharti” title.
