Railways collected Rs.1.41 lakh as fare and penalty from commuters during a four-hour special ticket checking drive at the Thiruvananthpuram Central and Pettah railway stations from 8 a.m. on Monday.Nearly 443 cases of ticketless/irregular travel were detected by the team led by Assistant Commercial Manager Arun Thomas, assisted byRailway Protection Force and Government Railway Police.A drive organised between Kayamkulam and Thiruvananthapuram Central on June 24 detected 265 cases. On June 26, as many as 102 cases were detected, in which Rs.39,345 was collected.
