CHANDIGARH: As the final countdown to the festival of colors begins, the Northern railway has decided to run two special trains, the Chandigarh-Varanasi-Chandigarh and Ludhianaa??Sehersa via Ambala to accommodate the rush of passengers traveling to Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.The city has a sizeable population from Uttar Pradesh.According to the senior divisional commercial manager, Ambala zone Gulshan Kumar, the 16- bogey 04504/04503 Chandigarh-Varanasi train with nine coaches of the sleeper class, three general coaches and one coach each for 3rd and 2AC respectively, will have its first run on Saturday, March 23 at 11.15pm.Some general class passengers will be given seats in two bogeys of guards attached to the train. The train will stop at Ambala Cantt, Jagadhari, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Lucknow and Sultanpur stations before reaching Varanasi at 3.30 pm.The return journey of the train from Varanasi will start at 11.10pm the same day to arrive at Chandigarh station at 2.30 on Monday. After Saturday, the Chandigarh-Varanasi train will run on Monday and Thursday. |
