Title - SR announces special trains from Mumbai to Velankanni

Chennai, Jul 30: The Southern Railway today announed special trains between Velankanni-Dadar and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to clear the extra rush of passengers on the eve of Velankanni festival.

A Railway release here said the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus- Velankanni-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus specials via, Renigunta, Katpadi, Villupuram and Mayiladuthurai, would Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 1120 hrs on August 25 and arrive Velankanni at 2145 hrs the next day.

The Velankanni-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Special will leave Velankanni at 2030 hrs on August 27 and arrive Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 1015 hrs on August 29. The composition of the trains will be one AC 2-tier, two AC 3-tier, 12 Sleeper Class, two General Second Class, one luggage-cum-second class coach for physically handicapped and one luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

The trains will stop at Kalyan, Pune, Daund, Solapur, Gulbarga, Wadi, Raichur, Mantralayam Road, Adoni, Guntakal, Gooty, Tadipatri, Yerraguntla, Cuddapah, Razampet, Koduru, Renigunta, Puttur, Tiruttani, Katpadi, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Tirupadiripuliyur, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Mayiladuthurai, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam.The release said the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Velankanni- Lokmanya Tilak Terminus specials will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 1120 hrs on August 26 and arrive Velankanni at 2145 hrs the next day.

The Velankanni-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Special will leave Velankanni at 2030 hrs on August 28 and arrive Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 1015 hrs on August 30. The Dadar-Velankanni-Dadar specials will leave Dadar at 1115 hrs on August 27 and arrive Velankanni at 2145 hrs the next day. In the return direction, it would leave Velankanni at 2030 hrs on Auugst 29 and arrive Dadar at 1000 hrs on August 31. Advance reservation for these trains will commence tomorrow.
