Title - Trains to be diverted, cancelled

The Southern Railways has cancelled and diverted a few trains from July 5 – 10 in connection with engineering works related to the commissioning of double line section between Valadi- Kallakkudi Palanganatham.

The railways has fully cancelled the train numbers 56806 / 56805 Tiruchi – Cuddalore Port Junction – Tiruchi Passengers and train numbers 56833 / 56834 Cuddalore Port Junction - Vriddhachalam – Cuddalore Port Junction Passengers from July 5 – 10. The train No. 76800 Tiruchi – Lalgudi Passenger will be cancelled on July 6 alone.

The train numbers 56706 / 56705 Madurai – Villupuram – Madurai Passengers have been partially cancelled between Villupuram and Tiruchi on July 10.

Three trains: Madurai - Chennai Vaigai Express; Chennai – Guruvayur Express and Guruvayur – Chennai Express have been diverted on the main line on July 10. These trains will halt at Thanjavur and Mayiladuthurai junctions in the diverted route.

The train No. 12636 Madurai – Chennai Vaigai Express departing from Madurai at 6.50 a.m. will leave Tiruchi at 9 a.m., Thanjavur at 10.10 a.m. and Mayiladuthurai at 11.07 a.m. and will reach Chennai at 4.15 p.m. The train No.16127 Chennai Egmore – Guruvayur Express leaving Chennai Egmore at 7.40 a.m. will leave Mayiladuthurai at 1.12 p.m., Thanjavur at 2.35 p.m. and Tiruchi at 3.40 p.m.

The train No. 16128 Guruvayur – Chennai Egmore Express leaving Guruvayur at 8.50 p.m. on July 9 and Tiruchi at 2.10 p.m. on July 10, Thanjavur at 3.35 p.m.; Mayiladuthurai at 4.47 p.m. will reach Egmore at 10.10 p.m.

The Railways has made alternative transport arrangements for the passengers with confirmed tickets for the above three trains.

It will operate special buses between Vriddhachalam and Villupuram, and Ariyalur and Thanjavur in both the directions on July 10, according to an official press release of the Tiruchi Railway Division issued here on Wednesday.
