The Government Railway Police (GRP) on Tuesday arrested two thieves and recovered gold jewellery valued at about Rs. 3.81 lakh from them.At a press conference here, GRP Superintendent of Police Ch. Syam Prasad Rao said that the police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Railway Police S. Rajashekara Rao arrested M. Vinod Kumar of Bhimavaram Rural in West Godavari district, and B. Raja, a native of Amalapuram town, in East Godavari district.The modus operandi of the accused was to cut the bags of the passengers and steal property and also snatch chains from passengers in moving trains. The thieves committed three thefts in Vijayawada Railway Station, said Circle Inspector M. Ram Kumar. The accused were arrested while they were trying to escape with the bag of a passenger, Y. Surendra, on platform no. 10, said the SP.
