ALLAHABAD: Loco Pilots ( Drivers) and Assistant Loco Pilots (Assistant Drivers) driving the trains are our vital asset and we should take care for their welfare, asserted general manager of North Central Railway Alok Johri while addressing the Sr DME (Senior Divisional mechanical Engineers) conference organized at NCR headquarters at Subedarganj on Friday. In the conference, performance review of the mechanical department for the year 2012-13 was made and the targets of the year 2013-14 were also discussed.Speaking further, general manager Alok Johri observed that as drivers and assistant drivers carry number of lives on their shoulders, we should take steps for their welfare. While referring to future planning of the mechanical department, he said that our weaknesses should be identified and steps should be taken to plug them. He said that our response should be fast and directed.He also instructed for observing cleanliness in the trains and the station premises as the passengers are directly affected by it. In this connection, Pest and Rodents Control plan is effectively working at Allahabad and this plan is being implemented at Kanpur from March this year. Speaking at the conference, chief mechanical engineer Syed Kabir Ahmad observed that there has been no asset failure of the mechanical department in the Kumbh Mela. Further, there has been considerable improvement in mechanical parameters in this year which is the result of the efforts of the staff of the mechanical department. | ||
