Title - 66 trains to get style upgrade under Project Utkrisht

Under project "Utkrisht" Indian Railways will select 66 trains express and Superfast trains across country and will upgrade its sleeper class and AC coaches with state-of-art facilities at par with premium trains. To improve passenger amenities and comfort; railway board has approved the Project Utkrisht. Under this project as many as 140 rakes of 66 trains will be upgraded.

Out of 66 chosen trains, some of the trains are -

  • KSR Bengaluru-Kochuveli Express
  • Tiruchy-Howrah Superfast Express
  • Mangaluru Central-Nagercoil Express
  • Madurai-Delhi Hazrat Nizamuddin Sampark Kranti Express
  • Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram AC Express
  • Coimbatore-Hazrat Nizamuddin Kongu Express
  • Mysuru-Thoothukudi Express
  • Dibrugarh-Kanniyakumari Express
Once these trains will be upgraded, railway will increase fares or not is yet to be decided. To provide better look and feel, gangway, coach interior and doorway will be vinyl wrapped. Flooring besides every birth will be replaced along with seats itself. Fire extinguishers will be installed and toilets in AC coaches will get indication board.
