Title - Kacheguda Railway Station became the first energy efficient railway station in India

Indian Railways is consistently trying to preserve energy that light up it's railway stations as every railway station utilise huge amount of power to run its entire machinery. Leading the way of this change Kacheguda railway station has become the first energy efficient railway station of Indian Railways. This railway station has earned distinction of A-1 category that is only given if a railway station achieves 100% Energy Efficiency.

Kachiguda Railway Station earned this distinction by replacing 1312 conventional lights LED lights besides replacing 370 ceiling fans with brushless DC electrical motor energy efficient fans. Not only this, the station has also replaced its all 12 air conditioners with energy efficient inverter type air conditioners. With the help of all these changes this railway station is expected to save about 1.76 lakh units of electricity which amounts to 14.08 lakh of rupees annually.
