Mumbai would soon get it's first air conditioned local train from January 1st 2018, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday told reporters in a press meet . At a Press Conference in New Delhi he told that sub urban Railway is planning to run AC train for 7 services everyday. trial and testing of these AC local trains is an ongoing process and will be completed before January 1.
  According to officials fear of these AC local trains will be around 1.5 times the cost of current first class tickets. to run AC local trains Railway has already procured 9 electrical multiple unit AC r a k e s for Mumbai.
 Railway Minister Piyush Goyal also spoke about introduction of elevated train services in Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi but only after feasibility study followed by financial study.
