Title - Nilgiri Special trains demands special fare to travel on heritage lines

Although Southern Railway has made elaborate arrangements to provide travellers a memorable experience while traveling on Nilgiri Special trains by providing welcome kit, on-board refreshments, Souvenir etc. but some passengers may find fare to be on higher side as detailed below -

Note that fares are applicable travelling from one side only ie. from Mettupalayam to Coonoor or from Coonoor to Mettupalayam.

  • First Class adult fare - Rs. 1100 for a single side journey
  • First Class child fare - Rs. 650 for a single side journey
  • Second Class Adult fare - Rs. 800 for a single side journey
  • Second Class Child fare - Rs. 500 for a single side journey
