One counter at the Mangalore Central Station of the Railways will handle tatkal ticket booking for one hour from 10 a.m. from July 10 following changes in tatkal seat reservation announced recently.

Separate queue

At Mangalore Junction and at the reservation counter at Lalbagh (satellite counter), a separate queue will be allowed for tatkal ticket reservation.

Tatkal tickets will be issued on priority from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

From July 10, booking of tatkal tickets will start at 10 a.m. on the previous day of the journey from its originating station instead of 8 a.m.

Priority

A press release issued here on Friday said that at all locations, where reserved and unreserved tickets were issued from the same counter, the existing practice of issuing reserved and tatkal tickets giving priority for unreserved tickets during train timings would continue. There would be one counter for tatkal reservation for one hour at Palakkad Junction, Palakkad Town, Kozhikode, Thalassery and Kannur. Separate queues would be allowed at Ottappalam, Shoranur Junction, Angadipuram, Tirur, Ferok, Kozhikode Satellite Reservation Centre, Wayanad, Malappuram, Vadakara, Mahe, Payyannur, Kanhangad, Kasargod and Pollachi stations, where only one counter was available, the press release said.
