Southern Railway will operate special trains between Madurai and Rameswaram to clear extra rush of pilgrims for the ‘Aadi Ammavasai ‘ festival at Rameswaram,

A statement said that an express special train would leave Madurai at 6 a.m. on Wednesday and arrive Rameswaram at 9 a.m. In return direction, the express special would leave Rameswaram at 1 p.m. and arrive Madurai at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

These express special trains would stop at Manamadurai, Paramakudi, Ramanathapuram and Mandapam.

A passenger special train would leave Madurai at 8.40 a.m. on Wednesday and arrive Rameswaram at 12.45 p.m.

In return direction, the passenger special would leave Rameswaram on Wednesday at 2.10 p.m. and arrive Madurai at 6 p.m. the same day.

These passenger trains would stop at Madurai East, Silaiman, Tirupuvanam, Tirupacheti, Manamadurai, Sudiyur, Paramakkudi, Sattirakudi, Ramanathapuram, Valantharavai, Uchipuli, Mandapam Camp, Mandapam and Pamban.
