Title - Virar boy hit by stone in train feared to loose partial vision.

MUMBAI: The 18-year-old Virar student who was hit by a stone while traveling in a local train at Kalyan on the Central Railway on July 11 is feared to loose vision of the right eye.

Sadashiv Kadalag, who was working part time with the Borivli based Hindu Publications was on his way to Kalyan for office work in the evening. He boarded the train at Dadar railway station at around 5.30 pm. Close to the Kalyan railway station he moved towards the footboard to alight. He was hit by a stone flung from outside. The stone hit Sadashiv on his right eye. A bleeding Sadashiv alighted at Kalyan station and was taken to a local hospital by co-passengers.

He was later moved to KEM hospital in Parel where he was operated on the right eye. Doctors at the hospital fear that he may lose vision of the eye. His left eye has not been affected.

A resident of Phoolpada in Virar (east) Sadashiv was pursuing higher education through correspondence. He was working part time to support his family and make funds available for his education.

Local corporator Vilas Chorge with the help of a NGO Rachna Seva Sanstha has decided to foot the medical bills of Sadashiv. Chorge along with trust members visited Sadashiv at the hospital and assured him of financial help. The trust has also decided to provide financial help to Sadashiv to help him pursue his studies.
