Title - ECoR collects Rs.41,000 as fine for spitting in rly stations

The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has imposed a fine of Rs.41,117 in 736 cases of spitting on railway premises during an anti-spitting drive in various railway stations under its jurisdiction during the last ten days. Spitting and littering are punishable and will be slapped with a fine of Rs.100 at 'A1' Class Stations like Bhubaneswar, Puri and Visakhapatnam, Rs.50 at'A' Class Stations like Bhadrak, Brahmapur, Cuttack, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road, Khurda Road, Palasa, Rayagada, Srikakulam Road, Vizianagaram and Sambalpur and Rs.30- will be charged at rest of the stations under East Coast Railway jurisdiction. ECoR has authorised the Station Managers, Ticket Collectors of Commercial Department or equivalent rank of Operating Department, Special Squard, RPF and officials to impose fine to maintain cleanliness at station premises The fine have been collected from Bhubaneswar, Puri, Cuttack, Visakhapatnam, Sambalpur, Rayagada, Brahmapur, Koraput, Palasa, Vizianagaram, Bhadrak, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road, Khurda Road and Angul stations under the ECor jurisdiction.
