Title - Gauge conversion work to be over soon

Dindigul-Palani gauge conversion work will be completed by August end and train services will resume by September end, said Divisional Railway Manager A. K. Rastogi.Talking to press persons at Palani Railway station after inspecting the gauge conversion work between Dindigul and Palani here on Saturday, he said that gauge conversion work was at the finishing stage. The Commissioner for Safety will check the track and certify it during his visit to Dindigul by this month end and after that the train services will be operated on this line. The Pollachi section will be thrown open in January and work was on in full swing there. On Bodi-Madurai gauge section,he said that it will be taken up only after completion of Pollachi and Palani sections as traffic was much low on the Bodi section.

Infrastructure

Top priority was being given for infrastructure development at railway stations in order to provide better facilities to passengers and provide quality food to them. Infrastructure development work was in full swing at Dindigul railway station and more facilities will be created.

Creation of more platforms and an over bridge connecting the ticket counter and all platforms will be constructed.
