Divisional Railway Manager Anil Kumar inaugurated two Sub Controls of the Government Railway Police (GRP) at the Railway Station here on Saturday.One of the Sub Control is positioned at the Book Office near the Main Entrance and the other is located on Platform no. 2. Superintendent of Police (GRP), Vijayawada, Syam Prasad, Senior DSP Gupta, DSP V. Bhima Rao and Inspectors Balakrishna and Venugopal were present.The concept of Sub Controls is the brain child of the Director General of Police V. Dinesh Reddy. The Sub Controls will be manned by a constable round-the-clock. Passengers can lodge complaints there itself and obtain a receipt for the same.There is no need for them to go all the way to the GRP Station on Platform no.1.The FIR copy would be sent to them later at the address given by them in the complaint.The GRP constable would contact the GRP Station in case of any emergency.
